How to read your result
Each round measures the time from the moment the green box is drawn on your screen to the moment your click, tap or key press arrives, in milliseconds (ms). 1,000 ms is one second.
- The wait before green is random, between 2 and 5 seconds, so you can’t time it.
- After 5 rounds you see your average, your fastest round and your slowest round.
- Your record is your lowest average. It is saved only in this browser.
- If you press before the box turns green, you see Too soon. That round starts again and is not counted.
The time includes more than you. Your screen needs a moment to show the change, and your mouse, keyboard or touchscreen needs a moment to report the press. These delays differ from device to device, so compare results on the same device. A screen with a higher refresh rate and a wired mouse or keyboard can give lower numbers than a phone or a wireless setup.
This is a speed game, not a medical or brain test. Times change with practice, attention and how tired you are.
Troubleshooting
Every press says “Too soon”
Wait until the whole box has turned green, then press. A press that arrives before the green frame is drawn counts as too soon, even by a few milliseconds. Holding a key down does not count as a new press.
Keys don’t do anything
Click or tab to the test box first so the page has keyboard focus. While a round runs, any key counts except Tab, which still moves focus, and Esc, which stops the round. Your finished rounds are kept.
The round stopped when I switched tabs
That is on purpose. Browsers slow down timers in background tabs, so the round would not be fair. Come back and press again to restart it.
My times are slower on another device
Screens and input devices add different delays. Phones add the time a touchscreen takes to detect a tap. Battery saving modes can also lower the screen refresh rate, which adds delay.
- Windows: Settings, then System, then Display, then Advanced display. Choose the highest refresh rate.
- Mac: System Settings, then Displays. Choose the highest refresh rate if your display offers one.
- iPhone: Low Power Mode limits the refresh rate on models with a 120 Hz screen. Turn it off in Settings, then Battery.
- Android: Settings, then Display. Look for Smooth display, Motion smoothness or Refresh rate, and turn off battery saver.
