Accessibility

Every test should work for everyone.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we do

  • Keyboard. Every control can be reached and used with a keyboard. Tests that listen to your keys only do so while the test is running, and you can always leave with the Stop button or by holding Esc for one second.
  • Screen readers. Controls have names, meters report their values, and final results are announced.
  • Zoom and text size. Pages reflow at 320 CSS pixels wide and at 200% text size without content being cut off.
  • Colour. Text and controls meet AA contrast in light and dark themes. Meanings are never shown by colour alone.
  • Motion and flashing. Nothing flashes more than three times per second. If your system asks for reduced motion, decorative movement is turned off.

Known limits

  • Some tests depend on hardware. The keyboard test needs a physical keyboard, and the webcam and mic tests need a camera or microphone.
  • Full screen colours in the dead pixel test are bright by design. A warning appears before they start.
